2) LET ME HOLD YOUR HAND(chapter-2)
2.When they collided
Sarah was new to that library and had just newly moved to town with her family.
Zayn was sitting in the library reading a book and was lost in his own thoughts. A girl was walking towards Zayn, his heart was throbbing fastly. Delightfully he looked up to greet her and was engaging himself to start a conversation. But Sarah began the conversation asking him " Hey, can you tell me where can I find this book ? " . She was in a yellow long kurti, her long hair were falling in loose waves around her shoulders.
Zayn was bit nervous and couldn't reply anything at that time. Sarah came bit closer to him with a bright smile. "Hey there! I'm Sarah," she said stretching out his hand towards him. "I'm new here and heard from my friend about this beautiful Library. Mind helping me to find this book?"
Zayn was not expecting a stranger to be that straight forward. He gradually took her hand, feeling a warmth inside as he shook it gently. "Uh, sure," he stuttered, his usually calm nature was making him feel self-conscious.
Sarah's eyes glistened as she followed him finding the book. She began a conversation by asking him about favorite books, the history of the library, and even his interests. Zayn opened up gradually, attracted by Sarah's elegant presence.
As they reached the poetry section, Sarah's eyes lit up with excitement as soon as she was finding all her favourite books . She pulled out a worn copy of Elizabeth Barrett's poems and started reciting a few lines. Zayn listened to her so pleasantly.
"How was it? " She asked
" Amazing," looking into her eyes, as he was complimenting her instead of the poetry.
As they continued to talk, Zayn found himself comfortable in Sarah's presence. She was a natural raconteur, effortlessly drawing him out of his uneasiness. Her vibe was contagious, and her enthusiasm was infectious.
Time flew by, and soon the library was about to close . Sarah looked at the clock and sighed. "I can't believe how instantly the time passed," she said, a hint of dismay in her voice.
Zain also expressed sorrow because he also did not want his and Sarah's talk to end. Receiving his courage, she said ,"Would you like a coffee sometime? There's a coffee shop just around the corner."
His eyes lit up with a delightful smile, and she nodded eagerly. "I'd love to!"
As they both moved out of the library together, Zayn felt a warmth in his chest, a shimmer of hope that he had found Sarah who could help him to come out of his introverted shell. Sarah's arrival at the library turned his ordinary day into something extraordinary, and he was also bit tensed having a thought of loosing these moments in the corner of his mind .
They both sat in the cafe having a conversation.
" Zayn. btw, What kind of books do you like the most ?" She asked.
"Romantic and psychology book" he replied.
"Great, I also love to read psychology books" expressed her eagerness. "Do you know Sigmund Freud?"
Smiling politely Zayn said" Yeah, I know. He's one of my favorites."
He was usually remain calm in these situations, found herself enthralled by Sarah's involvement and mesmerizing presence . He ended up shaking his head while she spoke, sometimes adding a few words of his own.
Sarah, on the other hand, was talkative. She talked about everything from her favourite authors to her hobbies, and Zayn found himself fascinated by her.
"I tend to talk a lot. Are you more of an introverted type?" she asked with concern.
" Yeah, I prefer to read and learn rather than talk." He replied being nervous.
That's cool ,I wish I could be more like that sometimes. I tend to get carried away with my thoughts and ideas.
"It's okay, everyone has their way of expressing themselves." Zayn added.
"Thanks for understanding. So, what do you like to do besides reading?" Sarah asked smiling.
" I enjoy playing guitar and reading psychology books." Zayn replied
" Wow, you're quite the intellectual and practical type. I'm more of a social butterfly, I love meeting new people and going out with friends." Sarah said .
"That's great. We all have our interests and strengths." Zayn replied smiling politely.
"Oh, sorry, It's too late now. I should go now. Nice meeting you, Zayn." Sarah said realising her loquacity
" Nice meeting you too, Sarah. Have a good day." He replied with a elegant smile. Even though Zayn spoke less, Sarah enjoyed their conversations and found herself looking forward to their meetings .
Zayn was hesitant at first to talk to her, but Sarah's friendly and accomodating personality put him at ease. Although Zayn was a good listener, he found himself opening up to Sarah, something he had never done with anyone else. He shared about his guitar classes and other interests , and Sarah listened to him attentively.
Zayn had no idea what it was like to open up to someone until he met Sarah. Sarah's warm personality slowly started to shatter her walls. She suggested him books, and they spoke of their favorite authors. Zayn found himself opening up to her about his life, something he had never done with anyone before.
