LET ME HOLD YOUR HAND(Chapter-4)
More than friends less than lovers
Zayn and Sarah sat at a table in the quiet library, surrounded by towering bookshelves. Zayn was flipping through a thick novel while Sarah was intently reading a book. Zayn looked up and said, "Have you read this book before? It's one of my favorites." Sarah looked over and said, "No, I haven't. What's it about?" .
Sarah smiled and said, "That sounds interesting. But I don't believe in love and all stuff."
Being lost in some deep thoughts, Sara said "I mean how people get addicted to someone then suddenly they leave you like you were nothing to them., and after that, you keep destroying your precious moments of life for them. Ughhh! It sucks."
Zayn looking into her eyes says, "I hear you, Sarah. Love can be a double-edged sword. But I don't think it's fair to say that all relationships end in heartbreak. Sometimes people just grow apart or realize they're not right for each other. It doesn't mean they didn't care or that the relationship was a waste of time. I think it's important to appreciate the good moments and learn from the bad ones, and the most important thing we should learn to forgive them as well as ourselves so that we can grow and become better partners in the future.
" Sarah looked up from her book and said, "Can I ask you something ?"
" Yes ? " he replied.
Sarah said " Suppose you're attached to someone, and if you say to them "I need more time to understand you," and in turn, the other person tells you "I might change with time and leave you," what does it mean? Aren't they only attached to us for their purposes? I don't know why people create the fear of losing them in your mind and call it love. Is it love? What do you think?".
Zayn replied, "We all are afraid of losing someone we love. But if someone truly loves you, they will never leave you alone. Even if they are not in front of you, they will always stand by you".
Sarah blushed and looked away " I got my answer Zayn." causing an awkward silence to fall between them.
Zayn cleared his throat and said, "So, do you want to hangout , now ?."
As they packed up their books, Zayn couldn't help but feel a flutter in his chest. He was drawn to Sarah in a way he couldn't explain, and he yearned that whatever happened tomorrow, their connection would remain strong.
As Zayn and Sarah spent more time together. Zayn found himself drawn to her unexpectedly. He enjoyed her company and found himself thinking about her when they were apart. But at the same time, he was afflicted by the fear that if he pursued anything other than friendship, he might eventually lose it altogether.
He didn't want to risk ruining what he had with Sarah by expressing his feelings and possibly making things awkward with each other. On the other hand, he couldn't shake the feeling that he might be missing out on something special.
Sarah, too, found herself struggling with conflicting feelings. She enjoyed Zayn's company and appreciated their friendship, but she couldn't help but wonder if Zayn had the same feeling for her . She noticed the way he would look at her sometimes and the subtle touches that seemed to linger a little too long.
As they continued to spend time together, Zayn and Sarah found themselves in a sort of uncertainty about the way to proceed. They both had a twofold thought about their relationship, each torn between the desire to explore their feelings and their fear , of ruining what they already had.
